I enjoyed both readings, but the analogy of natives vs. immigrants made it easy for me to understand the differences between my generation (baby boomer) and the new generation (digital). Since this online class is diverse (looks like our ages range from early 20's to mid-50's), will be interesting to see the points of views. Even though I'm in the "older" group, I do consider myself one of the immigrants that is going to work hard to accept the changes!
Teaching to a diverse group of students is interesting for me as well. I enjoy hearing the different reactions and perspectives of the students. I like the profile you posted here and it's so nice to see that you gave credit to your co-instructor.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, Bob. I am so blessed to not only be working at SCCTC with a terrific administrator as well as co-workers, but my co-instructor and I are like long-lost sisters! My profile picture is me with my youngest grandson; looking so forward to spending time with the grandkids this summer :) The oldest grandson is a computer geek like his dad (my son), so hopefully, will be able to assist me if needed. Talk about digital natives, he was on the computer as a toddler!
