Session 3

I never knew about doc.google and am looking forward to integrating it's use in my classroom! I enjoyed being able to sit here in my family room, get online, and "work" on the document. Will do some more research on ways to use it at school.
I also enjoyed reading the Facebook article--reminded me a lot of my own situation and how I solved it by waiting until seniors are graduating before "friending" them.

Spreadsheet Assignment

I'm pleasantly surprised that I finished this assignment without freaking out! I was afraid of spreadsheets--only because I don't know enough about them! I liked that I could follow along and pause to work on my worksheet and then continue, step-by-step. The formulas were intimidating but I did understand the intent and was glad to learn some of the functions. Don't feel really strong in excel, but much better than before the assignment!

Reaction to Readings

I enjoyed both readings, but the analogy of natives vs. immigrants made it easy for me to understand the differences between my generation (baby boomer) and the new generation (digital). Since this online class is diverse (looks like our ages range from early 20's to mid-50's), will be interesting to see the points of views. Even though I'm in the "older" group, I do consider myself one of the immigrants that is going to work hard to accept the changes!

Intro. to 2255

Thanks to Bob Karl for posting not only the syllabus, but recording the "lecture" and attaching the PowerPoint. It's nice to know the information is there to be able to go back and use as a resource, if needed. It's been interesting to see the diversity of our online class and look forward to learning from each other!
